# Review Supporting Evidence

Sprinto allows reviewers to upload supporting documentation when completing review tasks. Evidence provides proof that internal processes—such as audits, policy reviews, or risk assessments—have been carried out effectively. Evidence can be uploaded during the review or later via the **Manage** option.

Evidence upload is supported across both **Senior Management** and **Workflow Checks** tabs.

***

### When to upload evidence

* If a review requires documented verification (e.g. internal audit reports, org charts).
* If the **Evidence required** toggle is enabled while configuring a workflow check.
* If you are closing a review on behalf of another stakeholder (with documented input).

***

### Upload or update evidence later

1. Navigate to the **Workflow checks** tab.
2. Locate the check you want to update.
3. Click **Upload evidence**.
4. Attach the relevant document and save.

This is useful if you need to add evidence after marking a review as complete or if the reviewer forgot to upload it initially.

***

### Mark a check as Special Case

If you are unable to upload evidence or perform the review as expected:

1. Click on the check you wish to update.
2. Choose **Mark as special case**.
3. Provide a brief explanation (e.g. “Vendor offboarded – assessment not required”).
4. Click **Confirm**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Special Case actions are recorded in the audit log and should only be used when justifiable.
{% endhint %}

### Review uploaded evidence

1. Click **View completed reviews** on any check.
2. Review the attached file(s), timestamp, and comments.
3. Use this information to validate past decisions during audits or internal reviews.

### Supported formats

Sprinto accepts standard formats such as:

* PDF
* DOCX
* CSV
* XLSX
* PNG / JPEG (for screenshots)

Files must not exceed 25 MB in size or 25 files per upload session.
