# Invoke AI Actions & Ask AI

**Ask AI** is Sprinto’s contextual assistant. It appears inside entity records (for example, Policies, Risks, Vendors, or Staff) and lets you either:

* Ask natural-language questions about the record.
* Run available **AI actions** that you or your Admins have created in the AI Playground.

### Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

* You have an active **Sprinto account**.
* **Role permissions:**
  * Sprinto **Admins** can view and invoke any AI Action
  * Sprinto **Editors** (applicable for Advanced and Enterprise plan) with access to a given area which has entities with AI Actions or Ask AI can invoke it.

## Invoke AI Actions & Ask AI

Sprinto gives you three ways to bring AI into your compliance workflows:

1. **Custom AI Actions** – Actions you design to fit the unique policies, frameworks, and processes of your GRC program.
2. **Sprinto-defined Actions** – Pre-built actions provided by Sprinto for common compliance tasks, ready to use out of the box.
3. **Ask AI** – A conversational assistant that helps you query and understand compliance data in plain language.

Each option is embedded directly into Sprinto, so AI becomes a natural part of how you work.

### Invoke AI Actions

AI Actions, whether custom-built or Sprinto-defined are invoked directly within the GRC areas where they are configured. This means you can trigger AI from inside a policy, risk, vendor, or user record without leaving your workflow.

1.  **Navigate to a given area and entity**: Navigate to the specific entity record you are working on. (Eg: Access Control Policy). Navigations across all entities supported are mentioned here.

2.  Notice the 'Sprinto AI' button at the top right. This is your go-to spot for initiating AI actions or asking questions.

3.  **List of Actions & Ask AI:** In 'Sprinto AI' drawer, you'll be able to access all the Sprinto-defined Actions & Custom Actions you defined for the given entity.&#x20;

4.  **Invoke an AI Action**: Choose the desired AI action from the AI drawer. Sprinto AI will then provide you with initial results. You can ask follow-up questions based on these results until you're satisfied with the outcome.

5.  Ask any question specific to the given entity with the AI chatbox. <br>

6.  **Review suggestions**: Review the AI generated output and use it to complete your tasks. <br>

### Session Management

Currently, we display last active conversation which you can access anytime and on top of which you can ask follow up questions. You can access it in 'Continue your last conversation'.&#x20;

Refer to the available context for each entity and its supported attributes. Check the current context details and expected timelines for any unsupported entities and attributes.
